GoTyme, a joint venture between the Gokongwei group of companies and multicountry digital banking group Tyme, reinforced its commitment in making banking secure for its customers this Christmas Season by partnering with Scam Watch Pilipinas and Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) for the #HolidayWatchPH campaign.

The #HolidayWatchPH campaign is the anti-scam awareness campaign to educate Filipinos against the list of the most common online scams being perpetuated by cyber criminals every Christmas season called 12 Scams of Christmas.

The 12 Scams of Christmas are fake shipping and delivery notifications, fake online charity scams, fake shopping websites, fake online sellers, free trial scams, fake Christmas gift card scams, tech support scams, crypto investment scams, fake relative/friend scams, dating scams, foreign exchange investment scams, and loan scams.

GoTyme co-CEO Albert Tinio said that partnering with Scam Watch Pilipinas and CICC can help protect their customers against cyber fraud by having an integrated anti-scam education and awareness campaign and, more importantly, is having a channel they can report to.

“We have already strengthened our cybersecurity controls internally by constantly upgrading the security measures of our digital banking platforms and added new members in our team to fortify our fraud management policies and processes. Our partnership with Scam Watch Pilipinas and CICC this Holiday season will cover the needs of our customers not only with education on scam prevention but also a channel where can they report incidents of online scams especially this Christmas season.,” Tinio said.

“We are urging our customers to report online scams to Hotline 1326 especially this Holiday Season,” Tinio added.

Scam Watch Pilipinas co-founder and co-lead convenor Jocel de Guzman said that GoTyme is expanding its anti-scam awareness efforts to educate its customers against cyber fraud beyond its owned company channels.

“The Banko Sentral Memorandum Circular No. M-2022-015 mandates all banks to boost their efforts to phishing attacks. We commend GoTyme for taking its anti-scam awareness efforts to the next level by expanding its campaign externally, beyond its internal communications channels, by promoting #HolidayWatchPH,” De Guzman said.

GoTyme recently intensified its cybersecurity fraud management measures by disabling suspicious accounts to protect the public from fraudulent activities.
