CICC, Scam Watch Pilipinas conduct cyber hygiene to 16 parishes of Diocese of Kalookan

Sixteen parishes from the Diocese of Kalookan participated in the “Safe Ka Ba Online? Kwentuhan sa Simbahan” organized by the Public and Political Affairs Ministry of the Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) last November 4 at the San Antonio De Padua Parish Church in Malabon.

Cybercrime Investigation and Coordinating Center (CICC) Executive Director Alexander Ramos gave a talk about cybersecurity and the importance of public participation in reporting incidents of cybercrime to the Inter-Agency Response Center Hotline 1326.  

While Scam Watch Pilipinas Co-Founder and Co-Lead and Truth 360 Inc. Founder and President Jocel de Guzman conducted a cyber hygiene workshop to the church community discussing common online scams and highlighted the five Kontra Scam Attitudes against cyber fraud: Maghanda, Magdamot, Magduda, Mangsnob and Magsumbong.

PPCRV Director for Public and Political Affairs Ministry Rev. Fr. Martin Guarin emphasized the need for education and vigilance to be protected against online scams.

The Kwentuhan Sa Simbhan is a monthly activity conducted by the Diocese of Kalookan to its community to discuss relevant issues of the society.
